Polypropylene filament geotextile plays a crucial role in the civil engineering,water conservancy, environmental protection,and other engineering fields,as these materials provide essential functions such as seepage prevention,isolation,and reinforcement. However,polypropylene filament geotextile is prone to aging and degradation due to the erosion of the external environment,which seriously affects material’s performance and service life. Therefore, studying the durability of polypropylene filament geotextile has greatly practical value. Through systematically summarizes of the performances of polypropylene filament geotextiles,including thermal and photo-oxygen aging,chemical corrosion,and freeze-thaw resistance,it has been found that such material exhibits poor thermal stability and low ultraviolet resistance. Although the addition of antioxidants and light stabilizers can considerably improve the thermal oxygen aging and photooxidation resistance of geotextiles,there are some unavoidable disadvantages,such as unclear protection mechanisms,high costs,and processing difficulties. Based on this,future researches will focus on in-depth mechanism study,providing theory instructions for material processing; and developing cost-effective and easy-to-process methods for the production of highperformance and durable polypropylene filament geotextiles.
